Katie has lived experience of issues with homelessness, mental health and alcohol use but prior to this she achieved 11 GCSEs and 4 A levels at school then went on to achieve another 2 A levels, including sociology in further education. She then went on to achieve a BEd Primary Education degree with Honours at De Montfort University.
Katie then worked as a primary school supply teacher in the Bedfordshire area alongside being an assistant manager at a children’s accessory shop in Bedford. She also worked as an Operations Manager coordinating the workloads of maintenance engineers for the whole of the south of England. Katie also had a similar role in an air pollution monitoring organisation and went on to project managing the design and building of air quality stations within the same organisation and other organisations.
Katie is fully proficient in childhood social justice and education and context for inclusion, child protection and project managing.
